Midcentury Modern enthusiasts have another good reason to visit Palm Springs. Normally taking place in the winter alongside Modernism Week (February 12 – 22)—a celebration of Midcentury architecture and design in Palm Springs—the Palm Springs Modernism Show & Sale has added a fall edition, a two-day event taking place October 11 and 12.
“Since we launched the first Palm Springs Modernism Show in February 2001, interest and passion for Midcentury Modern design has increased so dramatically that the creation of a second show seemed a natural progression to meet the growing demand of collectors,” said Rosemary Krieger, President of the show’s production company Dolphin Promotions.

Featuring more than 45 national and international dealers offering a unique collection of vintage furniture and decorative and fine arts in the Midcentury Modern and 20th century styles, the fall show will follow the most successful and largest Palm Springs Modernism Show & Sale to date this past February. Figures from that edition indicate that 90 exhibitors from across the U.S. and Europe and more than 10,000 attendees took part, which represents a 20% growth from the previous year. The vibrant LA design community turned out, and prominent visitors included Trina Turk and Jonathan Skow, Martyn Lawrence Bullard and Michael S. Smith.
Participants taking part in the first fall edition will include Gallery 925 of San Francisco and Modern 2.0 of New Mexico along with Southern California-based galleries Christopher Anthony of Palm Springs, Ambianic of San Diego, Planet Glass of Glendale, PCH Modern of Redondo Beach, and Route 66 of Palm Springs.
The event will also offer a unique opportunity to shop an exclusive collection of contemporary exhibitors featuring one-of-a-kind original pieces, including Titia Estes of Los Angeles, Palette Contemporary Art & Craft of Albuqueque and Heather Rosenman of Los Angeles.
Tickets are now available for the early-buying preview from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, benefiting Modernism Week. Preview tickets are $25 per person and include return entry through the weekend. Tickets can be purchased online.
Weekend show hours are 12:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 11, and 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 12. Regular show admission is $15 and includes re-entry throughout the weekend event.
The show takes place at the Palm Springs Convention Center located at 277 N Avenida Caballeros, Palm Springs, CA. The winter edition of the show is scheduled for February 13 – 16. For more information on the show, visit the website.
