Symphony Designers' Showhouse to premiere in Kansas City

The 46th Annual Symphony Designers' Showhouse in Kansas City, Missouri, will kick off with cocktails on May 8, 2015, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Designers’ Toast Party, an event heralded by honorary chairs Vince and Julie Clark. Attendees are invited to mingle with featured designers, wander the recently decorated house and grounds, and indulge in an onsite jazz duet and catered dinner courtesy of Gourmet Grocers Catering.

A silent auction will star a selection of paintings from some of the city's on-the-rise artists, with all related proceeds benefiting the Kansas City Symphony. The event will be held at the Symphony Designers' Showhouse (96 Janssen Place, Kansas City).

Participating companies and designers include MadiMali, Prairebrook Arts, Pryde's of Westport, NFM, Décor by Design, Samsara Vintage Home, Kacy Childs Levin, Michelle Ford, Bruce Sondern and more.

The festivities continue on May 19 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Divine Design Connection, where guest speaker Bobanne Kalkofen, NCIDQ, ASID professor and chair of interior design at JCCC, will deliver a talk on design choice and choosing a designer. Attendees are welcome to meet guest designers and shop artwork and products available from local artists, including mixed media, photography and paintings.
