Billed as “the ultimate block party for design lovers,” DesignOnLex will run October 13, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., along Lexington Avenue from East 65th to East 75th Street in New York. Participating boutiques, galleries, florists and restaurants will host programs, product launches and special guests.

The DesignOnLex steering committee includes Nina Campbell, David Kleinberg, Kendell Cronstrom, Chesie Breen, and others. Among the many events on the schedule: NYSID will host a Dialogues on Design session featuring interior designers Nina Campbell and Rita Konig, moderated by Newell Turner of Hearst Design Group; and Mecox Gardens will host a book signing with Stellene Volandes, Town & Country’s editor in chief and author of Jeweler: Masters, Mavericks and Visionaries of Modern Design. A portion of the event’s sales will benefit NYSID’s Centennial Scholarship Fund, and students from the school will be volunteering on-site.
