The Rug Company has hired a new CEO, Jan Vingerhoets. The executive joins on the heels of three-plus years at RH, where he served as vice president of both the company’s international division and its lighting category. Prior to that, he was the CEO of B&B Italia.
North Carolina–based furniture company Taylor King announced a leadership transition with the retirement of Del Starnes, president for the past 21 years, and the appointment of Nicole Bailey into the role. Bailey was previously vice president of sales at the company; before that, she was the president of the nearby furniture company Olivia & Quinn.
Vesta, the luxury staging, interior design studio and furniture maker, has hired Randi MacColl to fill the newly created role of vice president of marketing. Before her recent consulting work in the field, MacColl’s roles included associate publisher and group marketing director at Hearst, chief marketing officer of technology and information company Sweeten, and marketing and brand development at 1stDibs. Earlier in her career, she was the associate publisher of Architectural Digest for 13 years.
Furniture company MillerKnoll promoted R.J. Stelter to senior vice president and general manager of sub-brands Geiger and DatesWeiser. Stelter has been with the company since 2012, most recently serving as vice president of distribution channels and dealer development for contract sales in the Americas.
Chaddock Furniture Workroom, a North Carolina–based manufacturer of custom home furnishings, appointed Cathy Carey as new vice president of sales. Carey joins from Baker Furniture, where she was the vice president of showrooms.
London-based home and hardware company Buster + Punch welcomed Heath Houston as its vice president of sales for North America. Houston was most recently the senior sales manager of national accounts, lighting retail and international at Arteriors.
Lumens, the online destination for luxury home goods and furniture, hired Dana Gers as its chief marketing officer. Gers was previously the chief marketing officer of fashion company Aritzia, as well as the CMO and director of global marketing and communications for the Net-a-Porter Group.
Cabinetworks Group, one of the country’s largest cabinet-making companies, has appointed Danielle Mikesell as its new chief marketing officer. Mikesell joins the company from Wilsonart Engineered Surfaces, where she was the global vice president of marketing and design.
Georgia-based retailer Accent Decor welcomes two new employees to the leadership team: Jason Neal joins as vice president of sales after holding the same role at Hillsdale Furniture; and Melissa Burke joins as the new merchant director from a senior merchandising manager position at Spanx.
Jim Cook has joined Swedish flooring technology company Välinge Innovation as its business development manager for North America. Cook was previously the Southeastern sales manager for Somerset Hardwood Flooring.
Christy, the British home textiles brand, has appointed Claire Hester as its new director of design, merchandising and sourcing. Previously in her career, Hester was product director at the furniture company Loaf and head of buying for fashion and home retailer The White Company.
Hickory, North Carolina–based HBF has appointed Jonathan Johnson as the new national sales manager for its furniture and textile brands. Based in Atlanta, Johnson was most recently the global client experience advisor for consulting firm AECOM.
Luxury kitchen brand St. Charles New York welcomed Katie Rogulski as senior designer. Rogulski was senior designer at kitchen manufacturer Christopher Peacock for the previous 11 years.

Julie Vadnal is the new editorial director of Food52. Vadnal’s previous publishing experience includes deputy editor at Domino and editing roles at Cosmopolitan and Elle.
Industry Organizations
The American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame has elected Suzie Roberts, vice president and general manager of Sunbrella’s furnishings division, to its board of directors. Roberts started her career in 1989 at textile company Dickson Elberton Mills, which was acquired by Sunbrella owner Glen Raven in 1998. In 2008, Roberts was named vice president, then promoted to vice president of sales and design before transitioning to her current position.
Design & Architecture
Alessia Genova has taken over the helm of New York–based design from Tihany Design from founder and CEO Adam D. Tihany. Genova joined the firm in 2009, before working her way up to become the firm’s first-ever partner 11 years later.
Design firm Multistudio welcomed Luca Giaramidaro as vice president and senior planner at the firm’s San Francisco office. Giaramidaro brings more than 15 years of experience in architecture and urban design, most recently serving as co-director of the Mobility Lab at architecture firm Perkins&Will.
KTGY, the Irvine, California–based architecture and design firm, has launched a residential branch and tapped associate principal Carrie Tolman to lead it. Tolman has been with the firm for nearly four years, and for a decade was principal at Simeone Deary Design Group before KTGY acquired it in 2021. She will lead the new practice out of Washington, D.C. The company has also hired Palm Beach–based associate principal Holly Nixon, who recently held the position of design director at Venus Williams’s firm V Starr.
TPG Architecture LLP, a New York–based architecture and design firm, has promoted Christina Faley to retail studio director. The Irish native joined the firm in 2016.
