What’s the inspiration behind the new collection?
For us, the inspiration began with Corey’s belief that lighting should function as the jewelry of a space. Together, we explored references spanning art, architecture, ancient civilizations, antiques and couture fashion, from Parisian art deco to New York modernism. Our shared goal was to create lighting that feels expressive and emotional while remaining timeless and architecturally grounded.
What was the starting point for this collection?
The starting point was Corey’s own archive of hand-drawn sketches. He had been developing lighting concepts for years, waiting for the right partner to bring them to life at scale without compromising their integrity. When I saw those drawings, it was immediately clear that many of them already spoke the Eichholtz design language, which made this collaboration feel incredibly natural from the very beginning.
How did the collaboration come about?
Corey Damen Jenkins & Associates has been a longtime Eichholtz client, and our pieces appear throughout his work and his bestselling book, Design Reimagined. There was admiration on both sides, and when we began talking seriously, it became clear that we shared a vision for elevating the lighting category. This was never about simply putting a name on products; it was about true creative partnership.
How do you feel this collection pushes the brand forward?
This collaboration represents a new chapter for Eichholtz. Working with a designer of Corey’s caliber allows us to expand our creative vocabulary while reinforcing our ability to translate visionary ideas into globally scalable designs. It shows the world that Eichholtz can be both a design authority and a platform for leading creative voices.
How does the collection build on or complement your other offerings?
The collection sits naturally within the Eichholtz universe, much like our award-winning collaboration with The Metropolitan Museum of Art, which demonstrated how varied creative perspectives can live cohesively under our European luxury design lens. Together, these collaborations expand our offering in a way that is both diverse and highly curated, appealing to a broad range of design aesthetics while maintaining a distinct point of view.
What about the collection feels fresh and exciting?
There is a boldness and individuality here that feels truly new for lighting. The pieces balance structure and emotion, geometry and softness, glamour and restraint. That tension is what makes the collection simultaneously unexpected and timeless.
What piece are you most excited to unveil?
There are several standout families, but what excites me most is how each piece feels complete in its own way. Designs like Erika, Andromeda and Persephone capture the full spirit of the collaboration: They’re sculptural, expressive and unmistakably Corey, interpreted through the Eichholtz lens.
Tell us about the materials in this collection. Are there certain materials used throughout, and/or a material that is a highlight on a particular piece?
Materials were central to every design decision. Across the collection, you’ll see fluted, ribbed and textured glass, as well as alabaster and natural stone, framed by rich brass finishes. These materials interact beautifully with light, giving the pieces depth, warmth and a sense of permanence that aligns with both Corey’s vision and Eichholtz’s craftsmanship. The Isabelle series features a seashell-shaped “sugared” glass diffuser that feels effervescent and casts a dazzling glow.
Can the collection be customized? What kind of options are possible?
This collection is not customizable, but given the immediate positive response, we are already working on future seasons where we plan to introduce extended and alternative versions.
How do you envision designers using this collection?
I see designers using these pieces as defining moments within a space. Whether in residential, hospitality or commercial interiors, the lighting can stand alone as a sculptural statement or be clustered to create rhythm and drama. These are pieces that invite conversation and instantly elevate a room.
