Behemoth tradeshow for the kitchen and bath industry

Under the new banner Design & Construction Week, kitchen and bath professionals will now be able to attend two shows in one trip under one roof at the Las Vegas Convention Center, February 4 – 6.

The Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) and the International Builder’s Show (IBS) will present the newest products in kitchen and bath, along with design competitions, keynote presentations, and special events.

On Tuesday, February 4, at 10:30 a.m. KBIS will honor the 30 Under 30 group of young talent for 2014 at Center Stage (Booth N2163). The National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) President John Petrie will introduce the group.

“Introduced last year, the 30 Under 30 program is designed to capture the voice of the next generation of kitchen and bathroom professionals,” said Petrie. “The group scours the show floor for innovations, trends and new technologies, as well as sustainable business practices and emerging business models and then shares these insights with attendees.”

2013 30 Under 30 honorees

Electrolux (Booth N3005) will host a champagne and cupcakes event at 11:00 a.m. following the 30 Under 30 introduction.

Also on Tuesday, discussions including “Secrets to Building Your Brand,” led by Annie Nozawa of Houzz; “Beyond Social and Search: Practical and Tactical Insights into Working with the next generation of Home Owners,” led by TV star Amy Matthews; and “Unleash Video Technology to Improve Your Business,” led by NBKA representative Rachel Troychuck will take place on the Center Stage.

At various times throughout the show, attendees are invited to audition for HGTV and the DIY Network, which are looking for new people with the right skills and personality to appear on various shows. Auditions will take place at the Center Stage (Booth N2163) on a first come, first serve basis on Tuesday, February 4, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m.; Wednesday, February 5, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.; and Thursday, February 6, from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m.

For the first time this year, KBIS will recognize exhibitors for innovative booth designs and displays with the KBIS Innovation Booth Awards. Booths will be judged on the “WOW” factor, messaging, education, engagement and “The Unexpected & Unprecedented.” Winners will be chosen and honored on Wednesday, February 5, at 11:30 a.m. at Center Stage in conjunction with the Best of KBIS Awards, which recognize the top product introductions at the show, and the NKBA Design Competition on Pinterest winners.

From 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, President of the Cosentino Group, Francisco “Paco” Martinez-Cosentino, will deliver a State of the Industry Address, providing worldwide prospective on today’s kitchen and bath industry, as well as the changing global economy.

Other discussions at Center Stage on Wednesday include “Selling Universal Design to the Reluctant Baby Boomer,” led by Troychuck; “Designing and Selling Using 3D Software,” led by architect Scott Harris; and “Trends in Kitchens & Baths,” led by Fine Homebuilding editor Brian Pontolilo.

On Thursday, February 6, the show will wrap up with a discussion about LED Lighting, led by HomeAdvisor CEO Chris Terrill, and the 30 Under 30 Presentation of the group’s show findings and highlights.

The show will also offer numerous CEU courses throughout the three days, including Richardon Sales Training and Strategy Execution, where attendees will learn how to develop top performing sales teams; and “Improve Your Sales Performance with Consultative Selling,” led by Lynn Neillie. These courses must be pre-registered for online. 

A complete list of CEU courses for credit as well as speaker and presentation schedules can be found online. Show hours are Tuesday, February 4, through Thursday, February 6, from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
