More than 40,000 attendees visited this year’s Masterpiece London fair from June 25 through July 1. Now in its sixth year, the fair was held again at London's Royal Hospital Chelsea and hosted more than 150 curators and museum directors from around the world, including Carlos Picon of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Sir Nicholas Penny of the National Gallery and Jessica Harrison-Hall of the British Museum, in addition to notable names, among them Paul Smith, Princess Michael of Kent, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Lord and Lady Camoys, Elizabeth Hurley, Robbie Williams and others.

Notable designers were also in attendance. As Ellie Cullman reflects on the fair, "Masterpiece is always the highlight of my yearly Europe shopping trip. I always arrange my travel schedule around this important fair, which boasts such an important and broad purview of the finest furniture, decorative objects and paintings."

The prize for Object of the Year was awarded to the Hanover Tompion, part of the Tom Scott collection of clocks. Notable sales included "The Castle Howard Mirrors," a set of four George II giltwood mirrors, sold by Ronald Phillips; a Hellenistic marble figure of Hygeia, a historically significant Greek helmet and an Egyptian bronze aegis, sold by Rupert Wace; and a work by Alighiero Boetti, sold by Robertaebasta.

Next year's fair will take place June 30 to July 6, with a preview on June 29. Learn more.
