Job Description

Plaster & Patina is a luxury residential interior design firm based in Pasadena, CA. We specialize in, in-depth historic home renovations and new builds. Our beautiful projects are very complex and require disciplined planning, communication, system creation and execution.

The Opportunity:
This newly created role is an opportunity to become the operational leader responsible for transforming vision into execution and ensuring cohesion through all the arms of the studio. In this role, you will build the systems, processes, and accountability that enable Plaster & Patina to scale while preserving the exceptional client experience and design quality that define our brand. Working directly with the Principal Designer, you will integrate strategic priorities into daily operations, lead the implementation of scalable business systems, optimize workflows across the organization, and create the operational structure that empowers the team to consistently deliver exceptional results while constantly refining processes. Loving a spreadsheet is a must!

What You'll Own:
• Leading the firm's day-to-day operations and driving cross-functional organizational communication and accountability.
• Partnering with the Principal Designer on business performance, resource allocation, capacity planning, and operational decisions.
• Building scalable systems, processes, and workflows that improve efficiency, consistency, and execution.
• Leading weekly operations meetings, establishing clear ownership and priorities, and ensuring decisions move from discussion to execution.
• Identifying operational bottlenecks, implementing process improvements, and leveraging technology to streamline workflows.
• Creating an operating environment that allows our creative team to focus on delivering exceptional design and client experiences.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in:
• Leading operations within a growing project-based or professional services business.
• Building systems and processes that create scalable, repeatable operations.
• Leading and developing high-performing teams while fostering accountability and collaboration.
• Driving measurable operational improvements through process optimization and technology.
• Developing the perfect systems within our companies current channels including but not limited to asana, canva, studio designer, slack, etc.
• Translating the Principal Designer's vision and strategic priorities into clear plans, priorities, and execution.
• Own project operations, including firm scheduling, timeline management, budget management, and workflow management to support successful project delivery.

Qualifications:
• 5+ years of progressive operational leadership experience.
• Experience in a project-based interior design, architecture or construction company.
• Experience implementing and optimizing business systems, project management software, or operational technology and an in-depth knowledge of asana is necessary.
• Proven success implementing operational improvements with measurable business results. At least 2 referrals will be necessary.
• High degree of ownership, initiative, and accountability.
• This in 100% in-office role. Candidates with a commute beyond 30 minutes will not be considered.
