Job Description

The Rug Company is looking for a Boston-based Senior Account Executive to own and grow an established book of business across New England. You'll step into a territory with existing trade relationships already in place, and build on it, cultivating ties with interior designers, architects, and homeowners while hunting down new business across the region. If you thrive on strategic relationship-building and want to represent one of the design world's most respected names in luxury rugs, this is your next move.

You'll drive revenue growth and expand The Rug Company's presence across the New England territory, taking ownership of an established book of business while actively building new business to grow the territory further. Success in this role means hitting annual sales targets, cultivating strong relationships with trade and retail clients, building brand awareness and loyalty, and delivering an exceptional client experience at every stage of the sales cycle. We're looking for someone with a proactive, strategic approach to sales and a proven track record of building long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

- Generate annual revenue against agreed targets through disciplined pipeline and CRM management — tracking performance, forecasting revenue, and closing gaps.
- Identify untapped market segments and emerging design firms, scouting industry trends and real estate projects to stay ahead of the competition.
- Meet with key accounts in the showroom, at client offices, and on-site, partnering with internal teams for a seamless client experience.
- Represent The Rug Company at design industry events as a trusted ambassador of our values and craftsmanship.
- Own your client book, building lasting relationships with designers, architects, and homeowners to drive loyalty and repeat business.

Job Requirements

- Proven track record of success in sales within the design industry.
- Active relationships with AD100 designers and other top-tier clients.
- Strong understanding of the interior design industry with established networks and proven ability to build and maintain trade relationships.
- Exceptional sales and negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to close deals and meet or exceed targets.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms and sales tools (e.g., Pipedrive recommended).
- Ability to analyze client needs and provide creative, tailored solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, self-starter mindset.
