A small, high-end, award-winning, full-service interior design firm based in Birmingham, Michigan is seeking a Project Manager to oversee multiple projects from start to finish across all phases of the design process. This is a primarily remote position; however, it requires occasional in-person site visits, field measurements, and project-related meetings. Candidates must be located within 20 miles of Birmingham, Michigan.
The ideal candidate will have 4–5 years of experience in the interior design industry, with exposure to both décor and construction, in a similar project management role. They should possess advanced architectural drafting skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to think creatively while effectively managing multiple projects and clients in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
-Collaborate closely with the Principal on schematic design and design development
-Assist in the design of custom furnishings, millwork, and architectural features
-Create design presentations, including material palettes and mood boards
-Source furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E)
-Produce full SD, DD, and CD drawing sets, along with corresponding schedules
-Review and redline construction documents
-Develop and work within 3D models
-Prepare detailed furnishing and construction schedules
-Liaise with clients, consultants, and vendors throughout all project phases
-Conduct site measurements as needed
-Assist with installations, styling, and photoshoots
-Attend weekly in-person meetings with the Principal
-Must reside within 20 miles of Birmingham, Michigan
You’d Be a Great Fit If You:
-Have 4–5 years of experience in interior design and can confidently manage multiple projects in various stages with minimal ramp-up
-Bring experience in architecture and construction, with the ability to read and interpret plans
-Are proficient in SketchUp and/or AutoCAD, as well as Adobe Creative Suite and Google Workspace
-Thrive in a small, collaborative team environment and enjoy working closely with a Principal
-Are highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in managing tasks and deadlines
-Have strong time management skills, can work independently, and effectively multitask
-Are enthusiastic, resourceful, and consistently think one step ahead
-Value flexibility and remote work, while being adaptable to a dynamic and sometimes unpredictable workload
-Have a strong design sensibility, refined taste, and a positive, professional attitude
