As our Product Development Associate, you will work across internal teams and external stakeholders to scale product development and expand our beautiful, high-quality assortment and push Maiden Home into new categories to rapidly grow our product line. The ideal candidate is a clear communicator who is invested in nurturing the relationships between Maiden Home and our manufacturing partners.

- Collaborate with the Product Development Manager to serve as a point of contact between internal stakeholders and external manufacturing partners for new product development
- Ensure the quoting and sampling process proceeds in a timely, organized manner according to the Product Development calendar, allowing us to efficiently launch new products throughout the year
- Be an advocate for the elevation of our product’s quality and design standards
- Expand our network of manufacturing partners by leveraging their industry knowledge and connections in the field
- Provide clear and concise technical feedback to our manufacturing partners, including review product shop drawings when necessary
- Partner cross-functionally with our Operations team to proactively develop our domestic and international supply chains for both existing and new categories, allowing us to more effectively scale new product development and support long-term brand growth

Job Requirements

- 4-7+ years tenure in domestic or international product development, production management and / or product operations; furniture start-up experience is a plus
- Experience with lighting, outdoor and/or textiles is required
- Experience in a home retail or boutique commercial furnishings manufacturing organization is required
- Must have seen product, in a quantity of >100, move from concept to market
- Strong knowledge of furniture design and construction through the lens of production
- Ability to critically review furniture shop drawings received from manufacturing partners
- Creative negotiator with a proven ability to navigate an array of stakeholders and priorities
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Rhino is required
- Working knowledge of data management or PLM systems such as Fohlio, Spexx and Specsources considered a notable asset
- Industry connections, including manufacturers and material resources, are considered an asset
- Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office and Google Suite a must
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail, a “can-do” attitude and the ability to consistently take initiative, demonstrating relentless follow-through in a startup environment
