Job Description

Marc Phillips Decorative Rugs seeks a Sales Manager to oversee all aspects of rug sales operations at our New York showroom. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in sales management. The Sales Manager will be responsible for business development, team leadership, and achieving sales targets through exceptional customer engagement and service.
As a key revenue driver, the Sales Manager will ensure seamless alignment between marketing efforts and sales execution.

Responsibilities
o Recruit, train, and motivate sales associates to achieve performance targets.
o Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and provide ongoing coaching.
o Manage staffing schedules to ensure showroom coverage.
o Foster a positive, team-oriented work culture.
o Develop and implement sales strategies to drive revenue and expand market presence.
o Monitor daily operations, adjusting tactics as needed to optimize results.
o Build and maintain strong client relationships to encourage repeat business.
o Provide expert guidance on rug selection based on customer needs.
o Address client inquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and professionally.
o Work with marketing to align sales strategies with curated collections, campaigns, and brand storytelling.
o Utilize marketing assets to enhance customer engagement and drive sales.
o Ensure the showroom reflects current design trends and featured collections.
o Provide feedback on product demand and marketing asset needs.
o Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer feedback to optimize sales strategies.
o Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and performance reports.
o Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and client meetings.
o Work with vendors and designers on custom rug arrangements.
o Ensure timely ordering and delivery to meet customer expectations.
o Stay informed on industry trends and competitive activity.

Job Requirements

Qualifications
o 7+ years experience in sales management, preferably in furniture, home décor, or textiles.
o Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
o Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
o Ability to analyze market trends and make data-driven decisions.
o Proficiency in MS Office, POS/CRM systems, and inventory management tools.
o Passion for interior design and luxury home décor.
o Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
o Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
o Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communication, or related field (preferred).
o Knowledge of rug types, materials, and design trends (preferred).
