Design Assistant
A Design Assistant at RAD works closely with the Design Director to manage multiple projects and is responsible for all phases of projects from initial concept development to installation and continued support. This position requires an in- depth knowledge of construction documentation, drafting, space planning, furniture sourcing and custom furniture design and fabrication.
Responsibilities:
You will support the Design Director to develop concepts, research furniture and inspiration, and execute. You will be responsible for expediting projects in addition to sketching, drafting, and rendering. You will assist with client related paperwork, research for proposals and administrative tasks.
Industry Partner Liaison:
You will be responsible for collaborating with other designers, architects, contractors, fabricators and movers as required. We expect all interactions with professionals in our industry to be kind and respectful. We care deeply about maintaining a good reputation with vendors and clients.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in the industry and an interior design or architecture degree from an accredited university.
Taste: An ongoing passion for design is a huge asset. Please nurture your ideas and share them with your team.
Technical Skills: Excellent visual, written and verbal communication skills. Must possess drafting and rendering ability using AutoCAD, Vectorworks or SketchUp. Must have experience and proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), Studio Designer.
