Mia Sandmark Design is seeking an experienced Senior Interior Designer to manage the day-to-day execution of high-end residential and boutique hospitality projects from concept development through installation.
The Principal Designer sets the creative direction for all projects; your role is to develop, refine, and execute that vision with technical precision, strong project management, and exceptional communication.
Responsibilities
Design & Technical Execution
• Translate the Principal’s design direction into detailed, actionable deliverables
• Develop material palettes, FF&E selections, and presentation materials
• Maintain design intent throughout all project phases
• Review, redline, and oversee drawing sets produced by drafters
• Produce supplemental CAD drawings and details as needed
• Coordinate with fabricators, millworkers, trades, and contractors
Project Management
• Manage day-to-day communication with clients, contractors, and vendors
• Lead site visits, job walks, field measurements, and design reviews
• Track project schedules, budgets, and action items
• Anticipate issues and provide solutions aligned with design intent
• Prepare for and attend all client presentations with the Principal
Procurement & Installation
• Source and specify FF&E, finishes, fixtures, and custom items
• Obtain pricing, manage quotes, and coordinate with receivers and installers
• Support installation and styling of completed spaces
Qualifications
• 5–7+ years of experience in high-end residential interior design
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and detailing
• Fluency in reading, redlining, and reviewing construction drawings
• AutoCAD proficiency (ability to draft when needed)
• Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously
• North Bay–based with reliable transportation
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
