The Interior Designer plays a critical role in shaping both the client experience and the finished product at Alturas Homes. This role is responsible for managing interior selections, producing construction-ready design documentation, and supporting both production and semi-custom projects. You’ll work closely with Sales, Construction, and Marketing to ensure every home is cohesive, on schedule, and aligned with Alturas design standards while also delivering a high-touch, guided experience for our clients.
1. Interior Selections & Client Experience
- Lead client selection meetings for semi-custom and custom homes
- Guide clients through finishes, materials, and design decisions with clarity and confidence
- Prepare and present curated design packages aligned with project scope and budget
- Ensure all selections are finalized prior to construction start
2. Production Design & Spec Homes
- Develop interior design packages for production homes
- Maintain consistency in design standards across communities
- Balance design quality with efficiency and cost targets
- Coordinate staging selections and furniture packages where applicable
3. Construction Documentation
- Produce detailed spec sheets and selection documents for construction teams
- Ensure all design selections are clearly communicated, accurate, and buildable
- Collaborate with Project Managers to resolve design-related questions during construction
- Maintain organized, up-to-date records of all selections
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Sales to align design offerings with buyer expectations and market trends
- Work with Marketing to support renderings, model homes, and visual assets
- Coordinate with vendors and trade partners to ensure product availability and accuracy
- Support continuous improvement of design processes and workflows
5. Design Systems & Process Improvement
- Help refine and standardize the Alturas design process
- Contribute to tools, templates, and systems that improve efficiency and scalability
- Identify opportunities to streamline selections and reduce decision fatigue for clients
