We are seeking a Lead Interior Designer with experience in the residential industry. This role will be responsible for concept development, CAD drawings, 3D modeling, selecting furniture & finishes and creating presentation decks. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of the construction process, the ability to manage and deliver a project from start through to completion and will collaborate closely with our Technical Director to ensure designs translate to reality. Work will be performed under the direction of our Creative Director and with the support of a Jr. Designer. We are open to this candidate being onsite in our Bryn Mawr, PA location or working remotely out of state.
Responsibilities
-Create and maintain floor plans, furniture plans, reflected ceiling plans, elevations and millwork details under the guidance of the Creative Director
-Design fully considered rooms / design schemes autonomously
-Develop floor plan and elevation options and studies for Creative Director while determining spatial flow and/or solving for obstacles
-Input on landscape design and exterior architecture to maintain consistency with the interiors
-Create 3D models accurately depicting architecture and finishes
-Maintain current and accurate project presentations and drawings as projects evolve to completion
-Create and manage schedules such as MEP, Finishing Materials, Lighting, Window & Door, etc.
-Research and spec furniture and finishes that are in line with overall design direction
-Candidate should have a minimum of 7+ years of residential design experience
-Knowledge of the full design process including Concept, Schematic, Design Development, Construction Documentation, Construction Administration, Project Management, Procurement, and Installation
-Extensive experience in AutoCAD or Revit
-Extensive experience in Photoshop
-Ability to create 3D models in Sketchup (ability to render is a plus but we also have supplemental rendering support)
-Experience in designing and furnishing interior spaces for renovations and new builds on high-end residential and commercial projects
-In-depth knowledge of furniture and finishes and an avid appreciation for overall design aesthetic
-Deep understanding of how designs translate to construction realities
-Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational capability and outstanding problem-solving skills
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
-Ability to prioritize tasks, be flexible with changes and pivot quickly as needed
