Job Description

ROTTET STUDIO - RESOURCE LIBRARIAN
The Resource Librarian manages the activity and materials in the library, acting as the main point of contact for design teams internally and vendors externally. The goal of the Librarian is to inspire others and enhance project results through the following responsibilities:
• Design Team Support
• Assist design staff with research
• Work with studios/project specific to help accessorize
• Attend studio meetings and certain design meetings occasionally to be familiar with what products
• Create inspirational trays for client meetings on occasion upon request
• Order samples for studios upon request
• Vendor Relations and Product Trends
• Main point of contact with all vendors that reach out and visit
• Meet with sales representatives to screen new products
• Arrange vendor presentations to design teams for new product technologies and new product techniques
• Arrange mini tradeshows catering towards specific studio (such as Hospitality, Work place, Retail. Mixed use)
• Arrange for furniture and products to be tested throughout the office
• Library Maintenance
• Maintain, catalog and organize an up to date Resource Library with stocked material and samples
• Label library shelves and maintain label changes
• Assist staff in locating materials and information
• Reorganize materials for expansion of, and changes to techniques and technologies
• Maintain labels of design teams’ project palettes and their shelves and order additional palettes when needed
• Organize archive of completed project palette materials and relabel trays and shelves for new projects
• Ensure all materials that are borrowed from the library are returned and filed appropriately
• Arrange for vendors to pick up carpet and other oversize materials
• Coordinate with schools of Interior Design to pick up loose samples*
• Office Support

Job Requirements

ROTTET COLLECTION SALES RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain a fun and positive attitude
• Assist internal and external designers with purchase selections and orders
• Exert professionalism and expertise in furniture sales and customization
• Maintain a strong knowledge of textiles, materials and sourcing
• Provide designers and clients with information on products, pricing, lead times, specifications, etc
• Seek new client relationships and nurture existing relationships
• Manage, maintain and follow up on sales leads
• Generate quotes, using internal system tools and convert quotes into orders when necessary
• Attend to customer service-related needs and requests, coordinating with the team as needed
• Stay informed of new RC products and other general information of interest to customers
• Coordinate and setup for all sales meetings to ensure food and drinks are available
• Keep rep list up to date with current pricing, freight surcharges, etc.
• Maintain calendar and schedule for all Rep presentations for sales team
• Provide presentations such as Lunch and Learns, Breakfasts or Happy hour events
• Engage in the sales and promotion of Rottet Collection products acting as the local representative
• Assist “walk-ins” as needed

ROTTET COLLECTION SHOWROOM RESPONSIBILITIES
• Field emails and phone calls
• Schedule appointments and greet all visitors in person
• Manage and maintain all showroom products and sales-related materials
• Coordinate deliveries and special events
• Assist with clean up after all events and presentations
• Maintain overall layout and cleanliness of showroom
• Maintain live plants to ensure their health and take appropriate action to replace them as needed
• Maintain stock and cleanliness of kitchen area

Rottet Studio (www.rottetstudio.com) an international architecture and design firm with an extensive portfolio of corporate, hospitality and multi‐family projects, is seeking a full-time Materials Resource Librarian & Showroom Manager in New York City who can maintain a well-organized sample library to assist the design team internally while coordinating with vendors externally to ensure the library stays current with the latest and greatest materials available. The Materials Resource Librarian will also act as the Showroom Manager for Rottet Collection, one of the primary faces to customers, who will service internal and external appointments, coordinate events and maintain a clean, well-kept showroom at all times. Qualified applications should have at least 5 years of experience working within the Interior Design Industry with direct sales experience and possess strong leadership and organizational qualities. The Rottet Collection showroom is located 3 floors below the Rottet Studio Office and will require flexibility to work between both locations as needed to communicate and coordinate among the design team of Rottet Studio and service needs of the Collection. Expertise in furniture sales and customization is a huge plus!
