Position Overview:
The Lead Designer is a senior creative leader responsible for shaping and executing the firm’s luxury design vision across a portfolio of high-end residential projects. This role directs projects from concept through installation with a focus on elevated aesthetics, precision, and an exceptional client experience.
Partnering closely with leadership, the Lead Designer drives design excellence, ensures brand consistency, and delivers exceptional project execution. They cultivate relationships with discerning clients and top-tier industry partners while mentoring the design team and contributing to the firm’s continued growth
Key Responsibilities:
• Manages complex and high-end design projects from concept through execution.
• Provides creative direction and ensures the design meets the client’s vision and budget.
• Collaborates closely with architects, engineers, and construction teams.
• Manage project budgets, and oversees design team performance.
• Mentors and trains junior and mid-level designers. Contributes to recruitment and talent development within the design team.
• Expands the firm’s business by developing client relationships and identifying new project opportunities.
• Oversees the creative and strategic direction of multiple projects.
• Works closely with high-profile clients, setting design standards and direction for major projects.
• Ensures design consistency across all projects and ensures the firm’s vision and brand are upheld.
Qualifications
• 10+ years of high-end residential interior design experience, with a strong luxury portfolio
• Proven leadership experience managing design teams and complex, multi-phase projects
• Bachelor’s degree in design related field
• NCIDQ and/or NKBA certification preferred
• Expert knowledge of construction processes, detailing, and project management
• Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, pricing, and project profitability oversight
• Exceptional design sensibility with the ability to lead and articulate a clear creative vision
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with high-profile, discerning clients
• Highly organized with strong negotiation, communication, and decision-making skills
• Experience mentoring and developing junior and mid-level designers
• Ability to balance creative excellence with operational efficiency and business objectives
