The Junior Designer is a creative, technically minded professional responsible for supporting the execution of high-end residential projects. Reporting to a Team Lead (Designer or Senior Designer), this individual is a critical "engine" for project production. The ideal candidate is highly organized, possesses a strong desire to learn the Jessica Lagrange standard, and takes pride in the meticulous accuracy of technical drawings and project data.
Core Responsibilities
Technical Production & Team Support
● Team Support: Assist your assigned Team Lead in the day-to-day execution of project tasks, ensuring all deliverables meet JLI’s rigorous standards of excellence.
● Design Documentation: Create and refine comprehensive design packages, including CAD drawings, floor plans, elevations, and technical specifications under the direction of the Team Lead.
● Sourcing & Procurement: Support the sourcing of high-end furnishings, fabrics, and finishes; manage requests for quotes (RFQs) and organize physical samples for presentations.
● Presentation Preparation: Prepare visual materials for client meetings, including mood boards, renderings, and material trays.
● Principle: Collaborate directly with the Principal and Owner on specialized tasks as needed to ensure firm-wide design standards and brand vision are consistently maintained across all projects.
Data Mastery & Studio Designer
● Primary Data Owner: Take full responsibility for updating and maintaining all project information within Studio Designer. This includes the accurate input of all items, SKUs, descriptions, and vendor lead times.
● Expediting & Tracking: Utilize Studio Designer to track order statuses and delivery dates, ensuring the Team Lead has real-time visibility into the project's procurement timeline.
● Warehouse / Receiving: Maintain communication with the receiving warehouse for schedule, planning and execution of installations.
● Proposal Generation: Assist in generating branded proposals, tear sheets, and specifications directly from Studio Designer for client and Principal review.
Operational Accountability
● Time Tracking: Maintain disciplined and accurate daily time-billing logs within Studio Designer, ensuring all hours are recorded correctly for review by the Team Lead.
● Sample Library Management: Partner with the Design Assistant to ensure the firm’s resource library is organized and reflects the current luxury market offerings.
