Ashley Lavonne is seeking a Junior Designer to assist with all phases of design and who demonstrates decorum when interacting with clients, vendors, and other studio contacts. The ideal candidate is resourceful, proactive, exhibits a strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Effective communication, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn design-specific software platforms + processes are also crucial to the role. For the right candidate, this position will grow to full-time.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES |
• Support all phases of design from initial concept through installation including: research, presentation, procurement + production, order tracking, and installation logistics
• Assist with client presentations: drawings + renderings, order samples + place reserves, confirm pricing + lead times, coordinate memos +/or furniture mock-ups
• Create +/or assist with floor plans, RCPs, elevations, and furniture layouts in AutoCAD
• Create +/or assist with construction schedules (appliance, plumbing, lighting, finishes, etc.) and scope of work summaries
• Visit showrooms, workrooms, and jobsites as needed
• Generate proposals, purchase orders, and specification packages with clarity and accuracy
• Generate project reports and assist with installation logistics (on-site + remotely)
• Reconcile accounting changes due to final shipping charges, replacements, etc
SKILLS + REQUIREMENTS |
• Minimum of 1-3 years work experience at an interior design firm
• Proficiency in: Gmail, Google Docs + Sheets, Word + Excel, Pinterest, Keynote, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Studio Webware. Knowledge of 3D modeling software is a plus but not required
• Highly dependable, responsible, ethical, and meticulously organized
• Strong time management and interpersonal skills with a keen attention to detail
• Sharp problem-solving skills with an ablility to take initiative and remain composed under pressure
• Flexibility to work on multiple projects with shifting priorities to meet deadlines and ensure exceptional service whether working independently or collaboratively
• Ability to effectively communicate design concepts + project updates
• Professionally represent the studio at events, showrooms, and workrooms
• Must have a valid CA driver’s license, the ability to lift 30 lbs, and authorized to work in the US
