Lake Flato Architects seeks a sharp and versatile interior designer to join our residential studio in San Antonio, Texas. Ideal candidates will exhibit a commitment to rigor and demonstrated experience working collaboratively with Architects, consultants, fabricators, and showrooms in the execution of high-end residential work. Successful candidates should have a minimum of 6 years of experience working on high-crafted residential projects.
Job description:
The designer will lead the production of project documentation and internal and external coordination including material and fixture schedules, furniture plans, furnishing drawings for pricing and construction, and finish specifications. The interior designer’s focus will be on selection, design, and procurement of custom furnishings. This position will lead the production of client-facing presentations as well as managing the details related to furniture procurement: proposals, purchase orders, and invoices.
The designer will work closely with senior interior and architectural designers to develop and execute our vision for thoughtful, crafted interiors. The candidate must be comfortable managing a small team, delegating work and managing multiple individuals time across 2-3 projects.

Position responsibilities:
• assist in the conceptualization of high-end residential interiors projects.
• collaborate with project teams and lead documentation and coordination of architectural finishes, fixtures, custom millwork and furnishings.
• design, source and organize furnishings, lighting, and accessories in alignment with the projects design vision.
• participate in client meetings and actively contribute to internal and external design dialogue.
• assist in creating and maintaining project schedules, budgets.
• produce and track client proposals and vendor purchase orders using Studio Designer.
Required qualifications:
• college degree in interior design or architecture
• 6-10 years of experience in high-end residential interior design
• excellent oral, written and graphic communication skills
• proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office; Autocad, Sketchup, Concepts+ and Studio Designer a plus
• Familiarity with procurement best practices
• Ability to sketch and draw by hand
• Motivated to seek direction as needed and to take initiative
Preferred qualifications: NCIDQ or ASID certified, LEED accreditation
