Terri Ricci Interiors is a high-end residential interior design firm with projects throughout Fairfield County and in destination locations including New York City, Martha’s Vineyard, Washington, D.C., and Florida.

We are looking for a talented Interior Designer with a minimum of three years of professional experience at a residential interior design firm to join our team.

The right candidate has a refined design sensibility, strong technical skills, knowledge of furnishings and resources, is highly organized, can multi-task, and understands the level of detail required to execute sophisticated residential interiors.

You will work closely with our senior designers and principals across multiple residential projects, participating in both the creative and technical sides of the design process.

Responsibilities include:

-Develop and contribute to design concepts, furniture plans, material selections, and overall room schemes
-Research and source furniture, lighting, fabrics, rugs, art, accessories, and vintage and antique pieces
-Create floor plans, furniture layouts, elevations, millwork drawings, and custom furniture drawings
-Assist in developing custom furniture, upholstery, window treatments, cabinetry, and other bespoke design elements
-Prepare and maintain FF&E specifications and schedules
-Participate in client presentations, project meetings, site visits, and installations
-Work with architects, builders, contractors, workrooms, showrooms, and other vendors throughout the project
-Request samples and pricing and maintain relationships with vendors and showrooms
-Help maintain the studio's materials and sample library
-Prepare client proposals and assist with project budgets
-Manage the purchasing process - create purchase orders, track shipments and lead times, coordinate deliveries, and help resolve vendor issues
-Assist with installation

Job Requirements

-3+ years of professional interior design experience working on full-service residential projects
-Experience working for an interior design firm and participating in projects from design development through purchasing and installation. --Experience solely in sales, retail design, kitchen or closet design, home staging, or showroom experience is not sufficient.
-Strong portfolio demonstrating sophisticated residential design work and technical ability
-High proficiency in AutoCAD
-Proficiency in SketchUp and Photoshop
-Strong furniture planning, space planning, and drafting skills
-Experience creating elevations, furniture plans, and custom furniture or millwork drawings
-Strong knowledge of furniture, lighting, fabrics, finishes, and residential design resources
-An interest in and knowledge of vintage and antique furniture is highly valued
-Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
-Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
-Confidence communicating with vendors, contractors, clients, and other members of a project team
-Ability to take direction while also working independently and taking ownership of assignments
-A collaborative personality, good sense of humor, and comfort working in a creative environment that can sometimes be fast-moving and demanding
-Valid driver's license and reliable car
-Ability to travel occasionally for project work
-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when needed for installations and project work
-Google Workspace and Microsoft Office proficiency
-Studio Designer or similar project-management/procurement software experience
