Role Description
C. Farrar Design is seeking a talented and motivated Interior Designer with a minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have strong AutoCAD skills and experience producing accurate, detailed drawings for residential interior design projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a designer looking to gain hands-on experience across all aspects of high-end residential design while working closely with the Principal and the Project Manager of the design team.
Responsibilities will include:
Producing and updating AutoCAD drawings, including floor plans, furniture plans, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, and interior details
• Assisting with space planning and design development
• Preparing design presentations and client materials
• Sourcing furniture, lighting, plumbing, tile, stone, fabrics, and finishes
• Maintaining project specifications and schedules
• Assisting with vendor coordination, sample management, and material selections
• Participating in project meetings and site visits
• Supporting the design team throughout construction, procurement, and installation
• Maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail across multiple projects
• Client-focused and Personable
• Strong problem-solving and Client Service Skills

Qualifications
• 1-2 years of professional interior design experience
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD is required
• Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field
• Experience producing residential interior design drawing sets
• Strong space-planning and technical drawing skills
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of SketchUp or other 3D modeling software is a plus
• Familiarity with high-end residential furnishings, materials, and vendors is a plus
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Collaborative, proactive, and eager to learn

Location
This is a full-time, on-site position based in our Water Mill, NY studio. Candidates should currently live on the East End/ Hamptons or be within 30 miles of the Hamptons. "Willing to relocate" candidates will not be considered at this time. This is not a remote or hybrid position.
