Mk Workshop is looking for a full-time Studio Assistant / Junior Designer in our office / showroom in Austin, TX

We are a small, full-service interior design firm with a product line of textiles and custom furniture, and we are looking for a talented and motivated Junior Designer to join our team and grow with us. Detailed Job Description

Design
- Maintenance of inventory and sample + resource library
- Sourcing of project-specific finishes and furnishings options
- Drawing tasks (Sketchup)
- Assist with presentations and meeting preparation
- Assist with site measurements as needed
- Assist with organization, set up, and styling for photoshoots

Project Coordination / Procurement
- Sit in on meetings and create meeting notes as needed
- Acquisition of quotes and invoices from vendors per provided specifications
- Enter specifications into the purchasing program and produce purchase agreements and purchase orders
- Keep and update project worksheets and schedules/tracking of all orders to the point of installation
- Coordinate shipping and receiving + deliveries
- Supervise installations or deliveries on-site as needed
- Produce care and maintenance packages for each project
- Assist with claims

General office/showroom tasks
- Answer phones and schedule appointments
- Greet showroom customers as needed
- Receive packages
- Occasional office errands

Job Requirements

Important qualities:
- 1-3 years of work experience in the interior design field
- Administrative experience is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize workflow and meet deadlines
- Flexibility based on the needs of the business
- Problem solver
- Good communicator
- Organizational skills
- Self-motivated
- Team player

Qualified candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office, Sketchup, and Photoshop. CAD is a plus. Studio Designer knowledge is preferable, but we will train the right candidate.

Compensation:
- Starting compensation, depending on experience 25-29$ /h - to be evaluated after six months trial period.
- Paid overtime where applicable
- Bonus payments
Benefits:
- Contribution to Health insurance (60% of self-insured market place premium - up to 700$/month)
- Ten days paid time off (1st year)
- Four paid days of sick leave
Schedule:
- Office hours 9am - 6pm / 1h break
