Your role as Design Assistant will involve the following job responsibilities:
• Organization of client documents – orders, finish materials, plans
• Order management i.e., tracking, follow up, shipping, installation
• Architectural drafting (CAD) of floor plans, furniture plans, elevations and details
• General support of the Principal Designer and Project Manager throughout all design meetings and
client interaction
• Assistance with site supervision throughout construction
• Collaboration and communication with various sales vendors for sampling, orders, and general queries
• Assistance in producing design presentations
• Pick ups, Deliveries and general organizational tasks at KGID offices and storage facilities
• Material library organization
• Any other tasks which both parties agree upon.
The ideal candidate should have a degree or certificate from an accredited Interior Design program and will work under the direction of the Principal Designer and in tandem with a Project Manager through conceptualization, procurement and installation of final designs. High interpersonal skills are required so that the Assistant can collaborate with vendors as well as support the design team in our fast-paced environment. Excellent time management skills, leadership aspirations, and attention to detail position are critical for success. The Design Assistant is expected to have a “can-do” attitude and a willingness to do a range of tasks or put in extra effort as a given project goes through more time intensive phases, such as the first presentation and install. The Design Assistant is expected to have or acquire proficiency with Microsoft Suite, AutoCad, Studio Designer Software (a plus), any design rendering program such as Sketchup or Revit (a plus).
