Marika Meyer Studio is seeking a Designer to join our design team in overseeing high-end residential projects from concept through installation. The position requires excellent project management, organizational, client service and vendor management skills in addition to design aptitude. Also crucial is the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment while maintaining minute attention to detail and balance multiple priorities. Experience in the high end residential interior design industry along with managing construction projects is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support senior design team and manage junior design team through the design process from concept through installation
- Prepare construction schedules and manage construction projects with regular meetings with construction partners and clients
- Ability to create RCPs, discuss construction considerations and preferences
- Prepare/review proposals and pricing estimates for client consideration
- Review/request estimates and quotes from design showrooms, workrooms, and vendors
- Coordinate and maintain FF&E schedules
- Review/coordinate orders, and delivery schedules
- Maintain successful vendor, client, and internal team member relationships by communicating and resolving issues proactively and professionally
- Coordinate and assist on-site with installations
- Work with office manager/bookkeeper to maintain timely records
- Bachelor's degree required (interior design or architecture degree preferred)
- Residential interior design experience (3+ years preferred)
- Google Suite (proficiency required)
- AutoCAD and Studio Designer (experience preferred)
- Full time, in-person position based in Washington D.C., with U.S. work authorization (required)
- Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle and be able to travel primarily throughout Washington, DC Metro area (required)
- At least a year of direct experience with managing/coordinating construction projects (strongly preferred)
- Demonstrate motivated, focused, and highly organized approach, with the ability to adapt to changing directives
- Thrive in a fast-paced work environment while demonstrating excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, paired with professionalism and maturity

- Exhibit the ability to assist with multiple projects in different stages of development and prioritize tasks accordingly
