Job Description

High-end residential interior design firm seeking talented Interior Designer to join our growing team, reporting directly to principal. Ideal candidate must have a minimum of 4+ years’ experience and 1-3 years' at designer level, must be passionate about design, and must have a deep knowledge about the industry. Must be is highly motivated, collaborative, client-focused, professional, organized, and independent. Candidate must have the skills and motivation to take ownership of projects from start through installation. Critical skill set and responsibilities outlined below. Job Requirements

Job Requirements
- Min. of 4+ yrs of experience, 1-3 yrs at designer level in high-end residential interior design
- Creative with a strong eye for sophisticated design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe and Microsoft Office required. Knowledge of Design Manager a plus.
- Knowledge of high-end showrooms, product lines and makers
- Experience with custom furniture design and reviewing construction/millwork drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-up, organizational skills and collaboration skills are all musts.
- Responsible and conscientious self-starter, focused on meeting or beating internal and external expectations.
- Works well in a team environment but can also work independently and proactively on projects without supervision.
- Excellent communication skills, both written, verbal, and graphic.
- Must be a self-starter and possess excellent time management skills.

- Ability to travel frequently to our East Hampton Office for working time with principal.

Responsibilities
- Ability to gather imagery and develop strong vision boards based on a deep understanding of client parameters and Principle’s vision.
- Use AutoCAD to develop furniture plans and elevations, and detail production pieces as needed.
- Ability to design, render and execute custom furniture designs.
- Research, source, and specify materials, furnishing, lighting, fabric, and finishes.
- Request samples and materials as needed for design schemes and presentations.
- Create and manage schedules such as Finish, Plumbing, Tile, Paint, etc.
- Prepare and lead client presentations and meetings as needed.
- Maintain current and accurate project presentations and drawings as projects evolve to completion.
- Attend site visits, client meetings, and internal meetings with the project manager and principal.
- Manage project installations.
- Ownership of keeping MCD sample library updated and organized.
