Job Description

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for directing the operations of the firm in accordance with its vision, values and objectives. Manage the operational functions that support the firms programs and services, including: Human Resources, Finance and Accounting,

Information Technology, Office Operations, Business Development and Administration. Member of the executive leadership team. This COO role is a full-time permanent position and is located in New York City.

The COO will be responsible for all business operations through leadership and oversight of a
firm-wide practice. This role will report to the Principal and work with other key executives in the company. This role requires someone that is able to problem solve, institute new policies and procedures where necessary and uphold operational and office-wide standards set forth by the leadership team. This person is involved in all aspects of the business, including the setting of goals and objectives, hr & project management, as well as support services. The firm is seeking an exceptional leader experienced in best practices and the interior design industry.

Job Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor s degree required
• Experience working in design or creative industry
• 10+ years of experience managing financial and administrative operations.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Executive presence and execution; ability to command respect from and negotiate issues with the team as well as clients & external partners
• Appreciation and commitment to the Vision and Mission of the firm
• Proven success in accommodating fast-paced growth within a business; manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously in a calm manner
• Ability and desire to lead and manage in a manner compatible with a highly creative and entrepreneurial environment
• Able to constructively engage in difficult conversations, blending candor with tact
• Highly collaborative
• Ability to see the big picture and act to benefit the organization
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Develop and implement strategies to assure continuous operations when faced with conflicting priorities, short-term objectives or limited resources, etc.
• Must have excellent operational and financial management skills with a strong understanding of P/L drivers.
• Retail or showroom experience a plus
• Mature, pleasant and professional in manner and appearance
• Highly organized self-starter with strong time management skills
• Fast learner and problem solver
• Dependable & service oriented
