Position Overview:
The Sales Associate plays a vital role in customer service, by providing textile shops, pricing, stock requests, and quoting, as well as client outreach and production support to ensure that furniture, lighting, and textiles orders are processed accurately and timely per customer specifications.
You'll assist customers with their selections, follow up on orders, and ensure a smooth workflow between clients, vendors, and the showroom team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong interest in luxury furniture, lighting, and textiles, as well as a passion for interior design. Our new team member must be personable, highly motivated and capable of working efficiently on an individual and team level. Strong time management and multi-tasking skills are a must in this fast paced and vibrant environment.
Responsibilities:
Client Interaction: Greet and engage clients, offering a warm and welcoming experience, and assist with selecting fabrics and textiles for interior design projects.
Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and provide necessary follow-up on orders, status and client and vendor inquiries.
Order Management: Order tracking, expediting, follow-up and status updates, as well as providing accurate and timely pricing, stock requests, and textile quotes.
Team Collaboration: Work with the team to maintain showroom organization, especially when senior sales reps are unavailable.
Product Approvals: Coordinate fabric and finish samples, ensuring client approval of designs. Follow-up with customers and vendors on Order Acknowledgements as required. Process, send, follow up, and update Drawing for Approvals as necessary. Send, follow up, and update Finish Samples for Approval
Communication: Keep customers informed about order statuses and completions and follow up with vendors and clients as needed.
Qualifications:
Sales Experience: Prior showroom sales experience is highly desired, AND retail or customer service experience is a plus.
Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are critical in this client-facing role. Communication in person, through email and over the phone is essential to your success.
Technology Savvy: Comfortable using web-based applications and proficient with Microsoft Office; willingness to learn QuickBooks for quotes and sales order processing.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational, multi-tasking and attention to detail are a must.
Team Player: Must be a positive, motivated team member with a strong work ethic.
Interior Design Passion: A passion for luxury textiles and interior design is preferred, as well as a great sense of humor!
