Wayfair, an e-commerce home furnishings retailer and parent company to Joss & Main, AllModern, Dwell Studio and Birch Lane, has teamed up with paint supplier Sherwin-Williams to create an integrated a system of color matching for users browsing the site's millions of home furnishings.

When browsing product on Wayfair.com, shoppers will see paint chips appear in the bottom right hand corner of their screens. Six different Sherwin-Williams paint options matching the product on display will be automatically generated, taking the guess-work out of selecting colors.

“We are continually focused on creating innovative ways to help people shop for their homes,” said Steve Oblak, senior vice president and general manager of Wayfair.com. “Whether matching new bedding to bedroom walls or pairing accent pillows with a new sofa, customers will now be able to find color inspiration and ideas right alongside Wayfair’s vast selection of products."

“Together, we are giving consumers the tools and inspiration they need to bring their vision of home to life,” said Karl Schmitt, Sherwin-Williams' senior vice president of marketing, research and design.

Wayfair's other e-commerce sites hope to soon offer the color-matching tool as well.
