Robb Report launches bi-monthly magazine, “Home & Style”

Real estate, architecture, home technologies and interior design have long been important topics for Robb Report, according to Home & Style editor Lori Bryan.

The decision to expand the coverage of these categories in a separate, standalone publication was prompted by a recent yet significant shift in the luxury home marketplace, according to Bryan. Median prices for homes valued at $1 million and above have steadily increased in the past year, while inventories of homes at this level have sharply decreased, triggering a spike of activity in the high-end residential market.

The new magazine officially launched June 6 at an exclusive cocktail party at a home that actor Jeremy Renner renovated with designer Kristoffer Winters in L.A.’s Holmby Hills. Notable guests including Bill Curtis, Bill Paxton, Cliff Fong, Ross Cassidy, and Lee Harris enjoyed a poolside musical performance by Teddy Andreadis of Guns & Roses and American guitartist “Jeff Skunk” Baxter.

Home & Style will be poly-bagged with Robb Report and delivered to its 73,228 subscribers. It will also be available on newsstands and at airports.

The editorial team includes Bryan, senior contributing editor Samantha Brooks, and associate editor Karen Cakebread.

Here is a look at what to expect from the first issue:

Design Seen—a visually driven roundup of the latest developments in the design world, from fine furnishings and accessories for the luxury home to rarefied shops and other hot spots by today’s top arbiters of style. In the premier issue, Home & Style takes a look at the new limited edition collection by Hervé Van Der Straeten.

Hi-Fi to Wi-Fi—the magazine highlights sophisticated gear for stylish spaces.

Portfolio—a collage-style profile of an architect, interior designer, or other tastemaker in the luxury-home realm and his or her most compelling projects to date. In the premier issue Home & Style profiles Los Angeles-based interior designer Joan Behnke as she prepares for the debut of her inaugural furniture collection.

Home Tour—a feature-length, room-by-room exploration of an extraordinary new luxury home, with insight from the architect, the designer, and others who played a part in its creation. In the premiere issue Home & Style explores a family home, years in the making, which mixes Art Deco and modern styling to dramatic effect in the upscale Chelsea area of London. Also, the magazine visits a coastal Miami condo that shows its dark side, and travels to Norway to see an ultramodern summer home stand its ground in an area typically characterized by architectural subtlety.

City Style—an aesthetically-minded overview of a vibrant city and its contributions—past, present, future—to the global design landscape. In the premiere issue Home & Style travels to Rio de Janeiro to celebrate the work of legendary designer Oscar Niemeyer, Brazil’s most influential architect.

Resort Town—a region-specific survey of real estate opportunities in the world’s most alluring residential communities. In the premiere issue Home & Style takes you to Aspen, Colorado.
