What’s trending now? Packed with the picks of eight home design experts, the High Point Market Style Report for Spring/Summer 2015, released on June 2, names the spring and summer seasons’ design trends—and the products that embody them.
The featured trendsetters, who were selected from a brand-new class of Style Spotters, a program launched in 2011, searched the Spring High Point Market for the season's best. This season’s spotters, who will also eye trends for the Fall Market report, include: Michelle Jennings Wiebe, ASID (FL), Style Spotter “Emeritus”, Studio M, @StudioM_, who wrote the introduction to the report; Arianne Bellizaire (LA), Inspired to Style, @InspiredArianne; Kati Curtis (NY), Kati Curtis Design, @DesignerKati; Beth Dotolo (WA), Pulp Design Studios, @PULPdesigns; Lori Gilder (CA), Interior Makeovers Inc., @LoriGilder; Patti Johnson, IDS, DSID (OH), Patti Johnson Interiors, @PJohnsonInt; Courtney Lake (CA), Monogram Décor, @CourtneyOutLoud; Jonathan Legate (Nova Scotia), Jonathan Legate Interior Consultation, @JonathanLegate; and Leslie Hendrix Wood (TX), Hadley Court, @Hadley_Court.
Bellizaire, interior decorator, blogger and speaker, opted for multifunctional and compact pieces like chairs including the Couef Swivel Chair and the Taylor Burke Home Hollings Chair, explaining, "Consumers who are just short on space or who need to make a big impact in a small-ish room want a wide selection of options that give them optimal functionality in a small footprint!”

Designer Curtis named "The Feminine Edge" as a trend-to-watch, citing such pieces as the Cisco Brothers Derian Settee and the Koket Camilla Armoire as exemplifying "the interplay of line and curve that keeps life interesting." Lake, a San Francisco Bay area designer, pointed out Silicon Valley's influence on design with such pieces as the Sugarbone Low Boy Console, the Bandhini Homewear Design Leather Pillow and the Natural Curiosities Light Box/Neon Sign, which reads "While in your dreams, think of me,” making his point. “It is an exciting time to be in the design world because the sky is the limit, and all we need to do is dream it,” says Lake.
