The Editor at Large had the opportunity to preview the full first episode of Bravo's Million Dollar Decorators, prior to its scheduled airing May 31 (10:00-11:00 p.m. ET), and we are happy to report that we were not disappointed.

In true Bravo style, the show offered a good deal of sensationalism, but enough substance to keep it meaningful. Not unlike the network's other docu-series, the show keeps a quick pace, alternating between the five decorators' project dramas, offering both suspense and comic relief—and topped off with stunning visuals of homes that would otherwise only be seen in high-end shelter magazines.

An EAL reporter had the chance to chat with a few of the 'Decorators' about the experience, what they're planning to do for the premiere, and what effect the show might have on the industry.

What were you most surprised by in the final edit?

Mary: How tough I seem when I am really not that tough and usually cracking a joke.

Jeffrey: That they started with a shower scene. I thought it would be a bit more professional ... me going into the office or something.

What was the most memorable moment during filming?

Mary McDonald: There were honestly so many it is hard to count. I think one of them is when one of my clients drops a bomb on camera about her personal life I was not expecting.

Jeffrey Alan Marks: The install of the restaurant. It was a mess thanks to the builder!

Will the show help the interior design industry? If so, how?

Mary: I think anything that exposes the various facets of the interior design industry help it. There are so many misperceptions about it that you just go 'whoosh' and it all turns out perfectly when it is really nothing like that. Also everyone works a bit differently and I think we all wonder sometimes 'Does this happen to them?'

Jeffrey: Yes, I think it will make people realize the fun ... but also the work that happens behind the scenes.

What do you have planned for the premiere?

Mary: Martyn Lawrence-Bullard, being the manly take charge guy he is (which I love), is so generously  hosting a private screening at the Soho House.

Jeffrey: Big party at Soho House. The Hungry Cat (restaurant I just finished) wants to have weekly viewing parties.
