Designers and industry professionals gathered to kick off the Kips Bay Decorator Show House in Palm Beach with a celebratory dinner. Co-hosted by Veranda, The Colony Hotel and Kohler, the dinner honored the showhouse’s designers and sponsors. On hand to welcome guests were Veranda editor in chief Steele Marcoux, Hearst Luxury & Design Collection group publishing director Jennifer Levene Bruno, and The Colony Hotel’s Sarah and Andrew Wetenhall.
Over 120 guests gathered to fete the upcoming opening of the showhouse, including Serena & Lily’s Carla Rummo, The Shade Store’s Michael Crotty, Jim and Nancy Druckman, Robert Rufino, Christina Juarez, Elisabeth Munder, Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club’s Daniel Quintero, Ellie and Edgar Cullman, Molly and Nick Mele, Steven Stolman, and designers Leta Austin Foster, Joe Lucas, Alessandra Branca, Suzanne Kasler, Sherrill Canet and Colette van den Thillart.
“This evening, we’re celebrating transformations,” said Marcoux. “First, we celebrate Sarah and Andrew Wetenhall, our hosts, who have truly transformed The Colony Hotel, a Palm Beach icon. Then there’s Jim Druckman, who—I think we would all agree—has transformed the design industry with his leadership of the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club and New York Design Center. And most importantly, the designers and sponsors, without whom the Kips Bay Show House would not be possible. You have generously given your time, resources and creativity to transform this house into the design destination to visit this season. In doing so, you have helped to transform the lives of 18,000 children in Kips Bay, New York and Palm Beach County, Florida. For that, they—and we—are most grateful.”
