An 11,000-square-foot Classical Revival mansion in Pacific Heights, built in 1904, will play host to a selection of top designers for this year’s San Francisco Decorator Showcase. The showhouse, which is now in its 40th year and benefits the San Francisco University High School financial aid program, will run April 29 to May 29.

Among the sponsors are Kohler, C2 Paint and Chairish, as well as media sponsors House Beautiful Kitchen of the Year, HGTV, and Modern Luxury magazines Interiors California, Silicon Valley and San Francisco.

How did the showhouse come to partner with the school? Explains event organizer Kate Gorrissen of San Francisco Universit High School: “Nan Rosenblatt, a parent and interior designer, along with the first president of the Parents’ Association, conceived the first showcase in 1977 to raise funds for financial aid. The event netted $26,000 in its first year. Each year, the profits have increased, with 2016’s showcase netting over $600,000. Since its inception, over 1,000 students have received aid totaling over $15 million. For five months prior to the showcase, a committee of about 30 parents work full-time, and hundreds more volunteer part-time for the four weeks that it is open to the public. This annual event attracts viewers from the entire Bay Area and beyond.”
