Poppy is looking for a Trade Sales Account Executive to develop and grow relationships with interior designers, architects, specifiers, and design firms, with a particular focus on commercial interiors and high-end residential projects.
This is a remote, relationship-driven sales role focused on proactive outreach, account development, and revenue growth. You will work across existing trade relationships, qualified opportunities, dormant accounts, and selected new firms to identify active projects, stay close to customers throughout the specification process, and create more opportunities for Poppy to be specified and purchased.
You will own follow-up for qualified opportunities generated through Poppy's partner pipelines and keep our CRM and job pipeline accurate. The emphasis is sales and relationship building, not order administration: our customer account management team handles quotes, sample order entry, and order processing so you can stay focused on outreach, project progression, and revenue growth.
The role is remote and based in one of these markets: New York, Dallas–Fort Worth, Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area, or Phoenix / Scottsdale. Most work happens by phone, email, and video, with in-person client meetings, presentations, firm visits, and industry events in your local market. Occasional national travel for a major trade show or company event, generally no more than once per year.
Compensation: base salary of approximately $65,000–$80,000 depending on experience, market, and industry relationships, plus performance-based commission. Target total compensation is approximately $90,000–$110,000 at expected performance, and strong performance can exceed target. Benefits and reasonable company-paid travel expenses are provided.
HOW TO APPLY: Please apply through our online application at https://www.poppyprintstudio.com/pages/careers. You will need a current resume and three professional references. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Several years of relationship-driven sales experience in interior design, architecture, furnishings, architectural products, or the broader design trade.
- Experience with commercial design and specification projects (hospitality, workplace, multifamily, education, and other contract interiors) is especially relevant; familiarity with high-end residential design is also important.
- Polished, organized, and persistent; comfortable building relationships with both independent designers and larger architecture and design firms.
- Confident initiating conversations, asking about active projects and specifications, following up consistently, and asking for the business when the opportunity is there.
- Understands long project cycles: stays engaged without becoming transactional, recognizes which accounts deserve deeper attention, and builds relationships that produce repeat business.
- Strong CRM and pipeline discipline: able to manage a meaningful number of accounts and opportunities with clear notes, next steps, follow-up dates, and project status.
- Based in, or able to work from, one of our five target markets.
We are not looking for a high-volume, cold-calling-driven salesperson. We are looking for someone who understands relationship-based selling, enjoys the design community, and is motivated by measurable revenue growth. Success will be measured by revenue growth across assigned accounts, pipeline progression, conversion of qualified opportunities, reactivation of dormant accounts, and new trade relationships.
