The Studio Manager manages the studio calendar, operations, organization, design teams, and related project schedules, billing, and budgets. This role is the right-hand support for the Principals, ensuring the business operates smoothly in partnership with the design efforts.
Meticulous and intentional communication skills, both written and verbal, are critical. Careful attention to detail and accuracy is required at every stage of our design and management processes and systems.
You will manage studio and team schedules and task lists to keep things moving forward amongst quickly shifting priorities and goals. Quick problem-solving skills, and an ability to forecast issues before they arise, will help you to thrive in this atmosphere.
In this role, your work will include the following:
Studio Management:
• Develop and implement new and revised internal systematized processes – initiatives, standards, policies, and procedures, improving processes and updating documentation as needed
• Collaborate with financial and marketing teams
• Contribute to studio and brand development goals and strategies
• Train, mentor, and supervise team members in company protocols
• Responsible for interviewing, placement/termination, and performance reviews of employees
• Prepare potential client project scope and fee proposals, contracts, and consultant agreements
Designer Management:
• Prepare, communicate, and monitor project work plans, budgets, and deliverables for clients and internal team
• Maintain and monitor teams, resources, and schedules to meet deadlines, milestones, and commitments, and ensure top profitability
• Oversee design deliverables to ensure design objectives are met and studio brand and standards are maintained
Bookkeeper Assistance:
• Provide accurate reports for cash flow reporting, monthly client billing for time/hourly billing, reimbursement, fees, and pre-installation & post-installation client project billing
• Extremely professional, reliable, punctual, and committed to a strong work ethic
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Working knowledge of Design Manager or similar program
• Working knowledge of scheduling software preferred
• Fluency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite preferred
• 7-10 years in a Senior Project Manager/Designer Role & 3 years or more experience in a Studio Manager position
