Job Description

JSD is seeking a highly organized Studio Manager with a passion for interior design and a minimum of 3 years of professional administrative experience to join our team immediately. Working closely alongside the principal of the firm, the chosen candidate will be self-motivated, passionate, a great communicator and have a desire to grow with the company as a key member of our team. This is a great opportunity to be immersed in the design world and learn alongside very talented designers working on high caliber projects both in residential and hospitality design projects.

Roles and Responsibilities
• Maintain office services, operations and procedures
• Act as support to principal in all ways needed
• Own project sample management and the organization of our studio library
• Maintain general cleanliness of office
• Maintain the office calendar and principal’s work schedule
• Onboarding and setting up new hires and employees
• Hire, manage and train design interns (alongside junior designers)
• Organizing, ordering and planning of food and supplies on a weekly and as needed basis
• Assist team with administrative issues and provide support where needed
• Work directly with IT, other service providers and landlord for all office technology needs, preventative maintenance and office upkeep
• Manage relationships with vendors, scheduling appointments when requested by principal
• Answering the telephone and the door; greeting visitors vendors and clients with high level of hospitality
• Ownership of all FedEx, UPS and messenger invoicing and tracking for client reimbursements
• Work with CFO and accountant to make sure they have everything they need from team members etc. and manage incoming and outgoing checks to vendors
• Support Designers in all phases of their projects such as assisting with sample pick up, vendor and client coordination, and onsite visits as needed
• Hiring and onboarding design interns
Plan and organize trips and events for the team

Job Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 2-3 years of experience in an administrative role
- Highly organized and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to complete tasks with accuracy and strong attention to detail
-Can do attitude (no task is too small)
- Exceptional customer and client services skills, always striving to provide the best service possible
-Flexible and willing to adapt to change
-Desire to grow within the company as a key member of our team
