Job Description

McKAY is a New York-based design firm that specializes in high-end residential interiors.
We are currently seeking a Studio Assistant/Intermediate Interior Designer to join our
team in Flatiron. This is a dynamic, dual-role position where you will not only contribute
to the design process but also play a key part in studio operations.

Role & Responsibilities
• Studio Operations:
o Manage billing, invoicing, and expense reconciliation through Studio
Designer.
o Serve as the first point of contact for phone and email inquiries, ensuring
smooth communication with clients and vendors.
o Maintain project documentation, schedules, and timelines to support
overall workflow.
• Design Development:
o Assist the Principal Designer and Project Manager in preparing design
presentations, mood boards, and construction documentation.
o Source furniture, finishes, and fixtures that align with the project’s design
direction.
o Coordinate with other team members to ensure deliverables meet the
studio’s standards of quality and excellence.
• Project Coordination:
o Oversee project timelines and budgets, working closely with all team
members to ensure on-time and on-budget project completion.
o Liaise with vendors, contractors, and clients to facilitate seamless project
execution from concept to installation.

Job Requirements

• 2-4 years of professional experience in interior design or architecture (high-end
residential experience is highly preferred).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and Studio Designer.
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact
professionally with clients and vendors.
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Must be based in New York City and legally authorized to work in the U.S.

• Full-time, in-office position, Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
• Located in the Flatiron District of NYC.
