The ideal candidate will be responsible for the management and execution of all aspects related to retail and trade sales, showroom presentations, trade events, and delivery of exceptional customer service. Responsible for driving financial growth through increased sales and development of strong relationships with clients, both with the residential design community and walk-in traffic. Increase awareness/business with a wide range of customers including local Designers and Landscape Architects. Implement all special promotion and pricing programs. Provide the leadership necessary to achieve projected sales goals while ensuring complete customer satisfaction
Major Duties:
Achieve or exceed sales plan by driving individual seller performances, recognizing and understanding trends and executing sales programs.
Create new sales strategies and identify new innovative opportunities to drive BJC store sales.
Ensure an exceptional customer experience through management of all phases of sales transactions from qualifying the potential client, to design consultation, product selection, quote preparation, payment processing, and follow through of delivery and set-up.
Coach, mentor and inspire the sales/design team, leading by example and through the establishment of clear goals and building a strong team environment. Recognize progress and celebrate achievements. Handle recruitment, evaluation, scheduling, training, and all HR management of sales/design team members.
Review sales management reports and confirm accuracy of sales orders and manage daily cash/credit transactions and reporting. Maximizes profits by controlling expenses.
Maintain the striking visual appearance of the showroom by effectively executing merchandise plans and strategies.
Manage all aspects of the physical store, including coordination and inventory control of floor samples, as well as building and office equipment, security, repairs, etc.
Maintain Company presence in design community through networking, joining organizations, and/or participating in and hosting to-the-trade events.
Additional Responsibilities:
Schedule outside sales calls and presentations with local designers and landscape architects regarding updates on merchandising materials, campaigns, and new products.
Resolve all operational issues, common inquiries, and/or concerns that arise within the showroom.
Promote and support all Health and Safety guidelines within the workplace. Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of direct reports.
Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Additional Qualifications/Requirements:
BA or BS Degree in Interior Design, Architectural Studies, Fashion Design, or any related field preferred.
5-7 years relevant work experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
3-5 years supervisory/management experience. Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
Background in retail sales management, design specification, design sales, and/or interior design. Broad knowledge of design and effective sales and specification techniques preferred.
Must be effective at presenting information one-on-one and small group situations to consumers, designers, vendors, representatives, and employees.
The ability to respond to and resolve common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Must be able to work extended hours including some holidays, evenings, and weekends.
Possess a strong work ethic demonstrated by attention to detail and completion of tasks timely.
The ability to problem-solve, to work in a fast-paced environment, to handle difficult situations, and to provide superior service to both external and internal clients.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to interface effectively at all levels both internally and externally.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) considered a plus
Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
The ability to travel as required.
Environmental/Physical Demands:
Showroom environment; no specific or unusual environmental or physical demands.
Must be able to lift, push or pull product, boxes, etc. of up to approximately 50 lbs.
