Job Description

A high-end fabric and wallcovering company is looking for an Industry Insider to run our California/West Coast sales. This is a great opportunity to build and manage our sales team on the west coast. Visiting clients on the road and hiring additional sales staff will all be part of your day. We need you out and about 4 days a week, you will be working with our showroom manager for support. The Outside Sales Manager, while reporting to the team on the east coast, will build and maintain sales in CA. Enhancing communication with current clients, proactively seeking new prospects, and diligently pursuing potential leads to discover emerging designers are key strategies that will contribute to the success of this position.

We are primarily a residential supplier however our extensive custom capabilities allow you to get involved in any project your clients are working on, residential or contract. We are looking for the person who is willing to do what it takes to keep our designers informed on new product and follow thru with their orders and eager to introduce our collections to new designers.

As a luxury brand, well known in the industry, this role will be expected to grow and support both large and up and coming new design firms. We value our collaborative relationship with many key designers in the market and are constantly looking for exciting new ways to support them and develop new partnerships.
In addition to the technical skills required, the candidate must be able to communicate with internal management, all aspects of the sales activities that will be carried out.

Job Requirements

Your main missions are:
+ Increasing sales thru constant and proactive action (phone calls and emails);
+ Actively researching new leads to expand the client database
+ Build a broad base of repeat customers & grow sales for state of California
+ Manage sales by developing new and existing clientele
+ Learn our product line, capabilities and understand the process
+ Gain in-depth knowledge of our collections style and technique
+ Outside sales - make appointments, give presentations, drop offs at designer offices
+ Provide accurate follow-through on all projects from initial quoting through installation
+ Keep client up to date with all new products and services;
+ Keep active and up-to-date reports of customer activity and business pipeline via ongoing report updates;
+ Supply and manage all memos for ongoing projects and update your sample library
+ While visiting clients, maintain their libraries and check for phased-out collections and missing best-selling articles
+ Learn and work with our customer systems

Required Skills:
+ Associate or Bachelor's Degree
+ Sales experience with at least five years developed in similar positions in design, architecture, arts, and interior environments
+ Knowledge of the luxury market and good understanding of textiles for interiors. Existing relationships with high-end residential designers
+ High-energy, focused sales skills and organization with an entrepreneurial spirit
+ Excellent communication skills, optimistic, positive attitude, and great attention to detail
+ Proactive problem-solving thinker and avant-garde thinker
+ Highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent presentation skills
+ Willing to support corporate vision through marketing and social media efforts locally
+ Proficient with various computer programs (Microsoft Office Suite)
