Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field. Minimum of 5 to 10 years of professional interior design experience, with a strong focus on luxury residential projects. Demonstrated experience managing projects from concept through installation, including design development, documentation, procurement, and site coordination. Advanced knowledge of furniture layouts, spatial planning, materials, finishes, lighting, and custom millwork detailing. Strong ability to develop cohesive design schemes and present ideas clearly and confidently to clients and team members. Proficiency in industry standard design software including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and presentation tools. Experience working in Studio Designer for project management, proposals, purchasing, and tracking orders. Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and coordination with architects, contractors, and fabricators. Experience sourcing furniture, lighting, textiles, and custom pieces through trade vendors and showrooms. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, consultants, vendors, and internal team members. Experience mentoring and guiding junior designers through project development and execution. Highly detail oriented with strong problem solving skills and the ability to maintain design integrity throughout all phases of a project. Professional demeanor and confidence working with high end residential clients. A strong portfolio demonstrating sophisticated residential interiors and thoughtful detailing. Ability to work from the Cara Woodhouse Interiors studio located on the North Shore of Long Island, New York. Passion for design, materials, craftsmanship, and creating distinctive environments aligned with the vision of Cara Woodhouse Interiors.

• Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional design, creativity, and attention to detail.
• Proven experience managing projects from concept through installation.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and Studio Designer.
• Extensive knowledge of furniture planning, space planning, custom millwork, lighting, materials, and finish selections.
• Experience creating construction drawings, specifications, and design presentations.
• Strong understanding of procurement, purchasing, proposals, budgeting, and order management within Studio Designer.
• Experience coordinating with architects, contractors, fabricators, and vendors throughout all phases of a project.
• Excellent sourcing skills with established knowledge of luxury furniture, lighting, textile, and plumbing vendors.
• Exceptional organizational, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple high-end residential projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Experience mentoring and collaborating with junior designers.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate challenges and develop creative solutions.
• Professional, polished, and client-focused demeanor with excellent presentation skills.
• Willingness to travel to Long Island office, project sites, showrooms, and client meetings as needed.
• Ability to work full-time from our studio on the North Shore of Long Island, New York.
