Job Description

Augusta Hoffman Studio is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Senior Interior Designer with expertise in design and project leadership from project inception to final delivery. This role will oversee the interior architecture and FF&E design for key studio projects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of seven years of experience in a similar role at a residential boutique design studio. Applicants need to have a strong architectural and construction administration background, exceptional eye for design in-line with the studio’s design ethos, and the ability to transform creative concepts into carefully crafted and thoughtfully programmed spaces. This role is a contract position from October 2026 - September 2027.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Spearhead projects from concept through final completion, while acting as the main point of contact with clients and all consultants including: architects, contractors, fabricators and artisans on multiple projects
- Collaborate with the principal on the overall vision of each assigned project
- Prepare and present client presentations with creative sourcing and advanced visualization techniques
- Provide design leadership with the project team, including the ability to direct and evaluate design options based on client-driven criteria
- Work hand and hand with our team’s procurement specialist & project manager to deliver beautiful spaces with the highest level of service required by our clients
- Responsible for material sourcing and specification, custom furniture design, visual research, furniture sourcing, graphic and visual presentations, in addition to building budgets and project timelines
- Creating project documentation including the submission of a full drawing set, specification writing, schedules, and construction administration

Job Requirements

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 7+ years of experience in interior design or architectural design
- Degree from an accredited design school
- Passion for design and an eye for detail
- Confident and polished presentation skills
- Experience executing the full design process including Concept, Schematic, Design Development, Construction Administration, Procurement, and Installation
- Develop project budgets and source materials, finishes, and furnishings that meet project requirements & budget parameters
- High proficiency in AutoCad, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), SketchUp and Google Suite
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a flexible working style and a willingness to adapt to the daily needs of the principal and design team
- Confidently redline submittals and shop drawings to ensure design intent and quality of execution
- Ability to lead a team, prioritize and delegate
- Experience working with high profile clientele
- Excellent problem-solving, analytic, and organizational skills
- High-level of integrity and dependability
- Detail oriented and extremely organized
- Ability to prioritize and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously
- Confident, proactive, able to anticipate the next steps forward
- A problem-solver and “do-er”; no task is too small
- Ability to work in the US

The ideal candidate will lead the development of architectural drawings and custom FF&E design while serving as the primary point of communication for clients, vendors, contractors, and project consultants. This role requires someone who can seamlessly balance creativity with technical accuracy, while confidently managing multiple projects at various stages of development.

This position will be a full-time in person role at our Noho, New York studio.
