Job Description

The Senior Designer is an important leader of our talented interior design team. You will meet weekly with your design team and the Director of Interior Design and have frequent communication with the Leadership Team. You will meet quarterly with your design team and the Director and annually with the Leadership Team to review Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Key Responsibilities:
In this role you are highly skilled, sharing knowledge, and autonomously managing all aspects of your projects.
Goal: Guide your team, projects, clients and keep clients happy.
Create compelling interiors of the highest quality from concept to installation:
Programming; Conceptual/Schematic Design; Design Development; Procurement; Installation
Keep project moving forward at all stages.
Management of all Budgets, Schedules, and Design Presentations & Documents.
Execute on your design – highly skilled in scale, space planning, and executing design concepts.
Meet with DID for guidance and final review of all design presentations – Initial Design Direction in Charette and Midpoint and Final Reviews for each project.
Design primary spaces (alongside Director on larger scale projects) and manage/delegate to your design team for secondary spaces for:

Architectural Materials
Furnishings & Fabrics, Lighting, Art & Accessories
Production of Architectural drawings, including delegation of work and final redlines of your design team’s work for :

Plans, elevations; Plumbing & Lighting layouts; Custom Millwork; Tile designs; Detailed finish schedules
Point of contact on site with builder for Construction Administration to collaborate and execute design.

Collaborate with Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator on:
Weekly expediting meetings
Tracking project variances in Budget vs Actual
Coordinating with PLC on all scheduling

Must be able to lead and manage a small team of Associate/Junior interior designers
Structured Mentoring
Clear communication and specific delegation of tasks on each project

Job Requirements

*We are open to candidates outside the Houston area (Dallas, Austin, San Antonio) But employee must be able to come to the Houston studio at least 2x per month*

To be successful, you are:
Degreed and Experienced
A Bachelors or Masters degree in interior design or architecture from an accredited program
A minimum of 6 years of interior design experience preferred
Experienced in managing a small team
Active Member of ASID/IIDA/AIA
Complete .3 CEUs annually
A Hand Drafting/Sketching expert
An AutoCAD expert
Tech Minded
Revit, Sketchup, and 3D rendering a plus
Studio Designer (online platform): Intermediate
Microsoft Office:
Word: Expert
Excel: Advanced
PowerPoint: Advanced
Outlook: Proficient, will train
An excellent communicator, both written and verbal
An experienced manager with a desire to mentor Junior and Associate designers
Able to interact with High Net Worth clients
Able to manage concurrent projects (up to 8 at one time)
Able to maintain a balanced workflow and meet deadlines
