Laura Stein Interiors is an award-winning boutique firm specializing in interior decorating and design for private luxury homes. We are seeking an exceptional Senior Designer to join our growing team.

We are looking for a highly motivated, mature, driven and creative design professional who wants to be part of a collaborative team working at the top of their game on innovative and exciting projects. Our ideal candidate will have a refined and sophisticated design sensibility and a proven background in both the conceptual and technical aspects of luxury residential interior design.

Responsibilities

• Undertaking all aspects of the design process within the context of LSI’s design standards and goals, including concept development, drawings, sourcing, pricing, budgets, presentations, collaboration with architects and builders, client service and vendor relations
• Designing custom furniture, fixtures and millwork
• Producing working drawing packages for new construction and renovations, including plans, elevations, sections, interior detailing and perspective drawings
• Creating and maintaining FF&E schedules, project budgets & timelines
• Leading client meetings and presentations
• Job site visits, overseeing the execution of the design, ensuring the accuracy of all design details
• Coordinating and managing vendors, trades and service providers
• Liaising with clients and vendors in a professional, friendly and enthusiastic manner while projecting the LSI brand

• Minimum 7 years of luxury residential interior design experience
• Degree or diploma from an accredited design school
• Expert knowledge of AutoCAD and SketchUp
• Excellent drafting, hand sketching and rendering skills
• Excellent knowledge of high-end design detailing techniques and materials
• Understanding of construction practices and ability to recognize job site deficiencies
• Strong familiarity with luxury product vendors
• Excellent project management, organizational, and customer service skills
• Outstanding problem-solving abilities
• Professional, friendly, and polished verbal and written communication
• Ability to take initiative and work quickly and efficiently with minimal supervision
• Excellent computer skills in a Mac environment
• Knowledge of Studio Designer/Webware a plus
• Professional, elegant and polished personal presence
• Must live local to Toronto and have reliable personal transportation
