Job Description

Laurino-Hanson Design is an interior design and creative services firm based in Manhattan. Founder Jacob Laurino-Hanson has years of experience working on high-end residential design projects around the world, having previously worked with Miles Redd and David Kaihoi at Redd Kaihoi.

We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and proactive individual to serve as a Project Coordinator / Design Assistant. Reporting directly to Jacob, this is a dynamic, hands-on role ideal for someone who is passionate about both the creative and logistical sides of interior design. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, resourceful, and comfortable managing a wide range of responsibilities, including design assistance, project coordination, scheduling, personal tasks, and vendor communication.

Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and logistical support to the founder, including scheduling and calendar management
- Coordinate travel, meetings, and appointments
- Assist in the development of design presentations, furniture plans, and elevations
- Support sourcing of furnishings, fabrics, finishes, fixtures, and materials
- Organize and track sample requests, pickups, deliveries, and returns from vendors and showrooms (including D&D Building trips)
- Maintain project design decks, proposals, purchase orders, and billing documentation
- Coordinate with vendors and trades on procurement, deliveries, and installation timelines
- Assist with project management tasks, including maintaining schedules, tracking milestones, and managing client communications
- Participate in site visits, installations, and vendor meetings
- Provide support during client presentations and help prepare materials and samples
- Manage the firm’s social media presence and assist with content creation

This is a highly hands-on, multi-faceted role that requires strong communication skills, discretion, and the ability to juggle multiple responsibilities.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of experience in a support role in design, fashion, lifestyle, or similar industries
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and self-directed
- Interest in interior design, project management, and client service
- Flexibility to travel locally in New York and to out-of-town project sites as needed

Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (especially InDesign and Photoshop)
- Experience with AutoCAD or drafting software a plus
- Familiarity with Design Manager preferred
