About Studio Balestra
We are an established gallery and showroom in Los Angeles, specializing in both custom furniture pieces designed by Adriano Balestra and carefully curated antiques and vintage pieces from around the world. Our team currently consists of the owner, Adriano, along with Janet (Showroom Manager) and Allison (Showroom Coordinator).
Role Overview
We’re seeking a Production Manager who will oversee not only the creation of new furniture pieces but also the refinishing and adaptation of antiques. You’ll ensure each item, whether new or vintage, meets our exacting standards and aligns with our aesthetic.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee production of new furniture pieces, liaising with upholsterers, carpenters, and other craftspeople to ensure quality.
• Assess antiques and vintage pieces, coordinating refinishing or adjustments where needed to meet Studio Balestra standards.
• Ensure all pieces, new or refinished, reflect the gallery’s aesthetic, evaluating cushions, seams, finishes, and overall craftsmanship.
• Handle both new production schedules and refinishing timelines, ensuring timely completion.
• Collaborate directly with Adriano on designs, translating them accurately to production.
• Read or create technical drawings (CAD or similar) to communicate design details.
• Build and leverage any existing connections in the industry (a plus).
Qualifications
• Significant experience in furniture production, covering both new builds and refinishing of vintage pieces.
• Familiarity with high-end showrooms or furniture makers, particularly in Los Angeles.
• Expertise in upholstery, carpentry, and finishing details.
• Proficiency in reading or creating technical drawings (CAD, hand-drawn, etc.).
• Strong eye for detail and alignment with our aesthetic.
• Based in California, working in-office full-time; car required.
• Spanish language skills are a plus.
• Existing industry contacts are a plus.
At Studio Balestra, we design and create our own custom line of furniture, blending timeless aesthetics with a love for Japanese craftsmanship. Beyond our own designs, we curate vintage and collectible pieces—especially from Denmark, France, and Italy—while representing artists worldwide. From curated upholstery to Pierre Jeanneret treasures, we are a Los Angeles destination for refined, global design.
