Landed Interiors is seeking an experienced, local Interior Designer to join our Berkeley, California location. We are a bi-coastal design team with a focus on crafting high-end residential projects across the country that span a variety of styles and integrate history and place. We are exploring candidates whose work experience could be suitable for a Junior or Intermediate level role.

The ideal design candidate must have a discerning eye and be self-motivated with the ability to work collaboratively, own assigned tasks (with guidance and oversight as appropriate), and manage their time on multiple projects simultaneously. They have experienced an acceptable level of familiarity with the lifecycle of a typical construction/renovation project and are perpetually interested in learning more about the processes and methods of construction and fabrication. They are familiar with the design market (vendors, fabricators, artisans, etc.) – and comfortable with the prospect of finding and vetting new contacts in unfamiliar markets.
A Junior Designer joining Landed should be prepared to focus on building and sharpening their technical skills and design references with some allowance for varying degrees of proficiency. This role is intended for designers still gaining familiarity with the rhythms and structuring of executing a high-end residential project. Our Junior Designers are expected to be actively engaged with the design process and will also focus on learning how to integrate feedback and participate in critique, study, iteration, and development within our project teams.
An Intermediate Designer joining Landed should display high proficiency across a robust set of technical skills and be experienced with the basic requirements of executing a high-end residential project with a strong focus on interior architecture and custom furnishings. They should be prepared to develop and communicate their design voice (both personally and in alignment with our studio) and sharpening their ability to manage and self-review increasingly larger pieces of the design process. A more seasoned Intermediate Designer is expected to participate in training others and improve design expertise and references across our studio and may manage appropriately-sized projects with the guidance and supervision of a lead designer.
Our current salary ranges are $72K-$80K for Junior Designers and $82K-$98K for Intermediate Designers, not accounting for overtime pay if it becomes applicable.
