Job Description

Erica Burns Interiors, a high-end residential interior design firm, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Junior Designer/Project Manager to join our team. This person will work collaboratively with the team to bring each project’s design vision to reality and ensure its overall success. The position is full-time and in-person, based out of our Washington, DC office. Responsibilities will include:

- Coordinate procurement process for furnishings: place orders, track fabrics/furniture, follow up with installers, record in spreadsheet form, manage any damages/freight issues that arise
- Produce drawings, including but not limited to: floor plans, interior elevations, millwork detailing, lighting, tile layouts, and custom furniture
- Confirm and verify as-built conditions through site visits
- Generate 3D renderings
- Reconcile and post payments for orders listed above, within accounting software
- Take detailed minutes during internal and client meetings and maintain record of decisions and next steps required by all parties
- Pick-up/deliver samples to clients and vendors as needed, UPS packages
- Manage punch list at end of project
- Coordinate referral gifts
- Create end of project Client packages (paint schedules, cleaning instructions, contacts)
- Help manage studio library by organizing, filing, and returning memo and finish samples
- Help manage office supplies

Job Requirements

- Experience working for a high-end residential design firm is preferred, but not required
- Experience using Studio Designer (or similar software) is preferred, but not required
- Experience using AutoCAD to create 2D floor plans and elevations is required
- Experience using InDesign (or similar software) is preferred, but not required
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and English language skills
- Excellent computer skills and familiarity with Google Sheets
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Able to work independently and solve problems creatively
- Able to interact effectively with Designer/Project Manager, subcontractors, and workrooms
- Strong mathematical skills (this is not an accounting position, but you will need to be comfortable with invoices and basic bookkeeping)
- Access to a car (projects are located throughout Washington, DC, MD, and VA)
