Salary:

The Junior Designer supports the Studio's Senior Designers in both the Los Angeles and New York offices, and the Principal, across all phases of the Studio's projects. The role is grounded in the technical and organizational work that underpins every project — drawings, schedules, specifications, samples, and procurement support — and is the position from which the Studio's designers develop. Junior Designers who demonstrate precision and initiative are given increasing design responsibility within the first year.
The Studio works collaboratively across its two offices. The Junior Designer works daily with the Los Angeles Senior Designer and the Principal, and remotely with the New York Senior Designer and the procurement lead on their projects. The role requires the ability to manage requests from more than one project lead, to carry assigned tasks through independently, and to keep the Studio's project materials in order without direction.
Responsibilities:
- Produce and revise drawings, elevations, and schedules in AutoCAD for projects in both offices
- Prepare FF&E specification sheets, finish schedules, and presentation materials
- Source and organize samples; maintain the materials library and project sample sets
- Track vendor quotes, lead times, and order status in coordination with the procurement lead
- Coordinate with external rendering and visualization teams
- Support site visits, deliveries, and installations
- Maintain project files, meeting notes, and task lists across both offices
- 1–3 years of experience in residential interior design, or a degree in interior design or architecture with relevant internship experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite; 3D modeling a plus
- Strong organization and attention to detail in drawings, schedules, and files
- Ability to prioritize and manage work from more than one project lead
- Interest in furniture, materials, and how things are made
- Effective working closely within a small team and independently on assigned work
- Willingness to travel occasionally for installations
- Based in Los Angeles
To apply, submit a CV and portfolio to cm@miatodd.com. Portfolios should include drawings and technical work as well as design projects.
